Introducing Robert E. Graham, MD, MPH, ABOIM, FACP and the FRxESH Integrative Health Program at Physio Logic

What is FRESH?

Health care needs a “FRESH” prescription to health. FRESH is an Integrative Health program with roots grounded in conventional/allopathic medicine and holistic medicine. It is based on the belief that each patient is unique and has their own individual needs. We look at each patient as a whole person with their very own biological, psychological, and spiritual traits in their own social and ecological environments.

The idea is that healing should be a fully collaborative partnership between the doctor and the patient, where teaching and promoting wellness is just as important as treatment. We strongly believe in empowering our patients to have the knowledge and ability to care for themselves, particularly through our FRESH model which stands for food, relaxation, exercise, stress reduction and happiness.

That knowledge is where their healthcare truly begins.

“Patients are increasingly frustrated with what they perceive as a limited set of options provided by allopathic medicine, which basically amounts to prescription drugs and surgery, and want more choices for wellness and healing than allopathic medicine can provide.” —Victoria Maizes, Andrew Weil. Academic Medicine. 2002

There is a growing amount of hospitals and doctor offices throughout the nation that are listening closely and responding to patient demand. They are now offering Integrative Health; a whole-body approach to care, designed to treat the person – mind, body and spirit – and not just the disease.

Dr. Graham’s Integrative Health program will incorporate many of the services already offered at Physio Logic such as nutrition, functional medicine, acupuncture, yoga, Pilates, meditation, chiropractic and massage therapy, as well as outside sources that complement our patient’s conventional medical care.

Integrative Health weaves together the best, evidence based, conventional treatments along with mind-body interventions, nutritional strategies, herbal therapies, dietary supplements, acupuncture, and manual medicine, providing clinicians with a roadmap for practicing comprehensive integrative care.

We choose to practice medicine on a very personal level, spending time to get to know and understand our patients medically, as well as personally. Health takes time!

Dr. Graham believes in establishing a therapeutic relationship with his patients, which enables him to deliver high-quality and comprehensive healthcare. This empowers our patients to take care of themselves and ultimately live healthier, happier lives.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The FRESH Integrative Health program strives to become the leader in providing excellent healthcare in a multi-disciplinary, synergistic and collaborative approach to meet the comprehensive needs of our patients.

Patients will be seen either for individual treatments or a multi-disciplinary evaluation, which is particularly helpful for patients suffering from chronic conditions.

Patients will receive recommendations on how to manage one or more of their medical problems using complementary and integrative therapies. Dr. Graham will lay out a clear and FRESH prescription on how to best fulfill the patient’s individual health needs. This plan will be developed in conjunction with the patient’s primary care physician.

The FRESH Integrative Health program will focus on health promotion and disease management. We will treat patients who are managing chronic conditions such as

  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease
  • Gastrointestinal complaints
  • Thyroid Disease
  • Depression
  • Weight management
    and many other conditions

with the hopes of reducing and or eliminating the need for drugs and surgery. Again and again, research shows most chronic diseases are preventable and reversible!

We’ll also address any major medical events such as

  • Surgery
  • Cancer
  • or a Heart Attack

We want to work closely with our patients to help them maintain, enhance and sustain their state of well-being for the long term.
