Dear Friends,
One of the best parts of my job is that I get to talk to so many of you, hear your points of view, and share our experiences navigating, pretty much, everything. These exchanges are really invaluable as we ‘big brother’ / ‘big sister’ each other through life and specifically in regards to our lifestyle choices of health and well-being. Stability seems to be the common theme for so many of us.
I truly hope everyone is making it through the fall/winter and holiday season with some sense of routine and clarity. Just know that you are not alone. As humans, we are always looking for stable ground. Our mind is like our body: our blood, our organs, our joints, muscles, and bones all seek homeostasis. Just know that even the act of seeking is where so many benefits are. Like when you are trying to balance during an exercise and all the good work that goes in, even if you are wobbly. I know many are struggling to hold onto the healthy habits they may have picked up over the last 2 years. Others have really implemented and are reaping the benefits of their newfound strength even amidst a life turned upside down for one reason or another. Now, more than ever before, we need a healthy mind and body. There simply can not be one without the other.
As a business owner, I don’t usually share the struggles, I try to latch on to what is not a struggle. The main thing being… guess what? Moving. Pilates!
So I won’t tell you my frustrations or give you my to-do list. 🙂 Instead, I’d love to share all the amazing things and forward-motion we are a part of.
In the Pilates studio, I find we are even more in touch with how this system naturally nurtures this connection. I’d like first to introduce some new additions. We have 3 new additions to our Senior Instructor family, teachers with 10+ years of experience: Jessica Sansone, Jessica Galo, and Bianca Falco. Our newest fully certified instructor is Allie Alison-Galazin, our former operations manager. We also have 3 new apprentice instructors, student teachers who recently completed the comprehensive BASI Teacher training course and are working toward completion of their practical hours: Julian Garita, a yoga teacher from Costa Rica, Astrid Von Ussar, a faculty of the Ailey School. Also, a big congratulations to Stefanie Doolittle who just passed her final exams with BASI Headquarters! All of these amazing additions are teaching Private and Group Classes in our Brooklyn Studio and they are selling out as we slowly grow our schedule each month to ensure a comfortable number of bodies in our studio.
Our last addition, but most certainly not least, Anastasia Soroczynski, is our operations manager! Many of you have had correspondence with her already and have sung her praises. We are lucky to have her and I am blessed to have her as my colleague. Her expertise, experience, and ability to see the big picture alongside me are such a gift. I can’t wait to share our developments on VirtuaLogic.earth and all that we have in the works with BASI Pilates in 2022!
Up-And-Coming: Our next BASI Pilates Foundation course begins in February 2022! Please email for more details or see some course details here.
Please remember that our massage therapy sessions book well in advance so reserve your bookings and have something to look forward to! Massage is the most underrated gift of health and wellness.
Lastly, we are continuing all safety protocols in the studio. Our studios continue to be extremely cognizant of the number of bodies in the studio along with cleaning protocols. Masks are mandatory for teachers and clients, at least until this season is over and we will revisit the policy in the coming months. I ask that you please come to me or Anastasia directly with any comments or concerns. We have managed to keep everyone safe, happy, and feeling comfortable since we reopened last year. We plan to continue to do so. See our protocols here. Communication is always key.
Thank you for trusting us with your health and for letting us be your teachers!
Lots of love and wellness to you as we head into 2022,
Lynda Gehrman and the Physio Logic Pilates Staff
