What were your initial goals coming into Physio Logic? What conditions/injuries did you get treated for at Physio Logic?
I was feeling pain in my left hip on and off for about 8 months. I’m not sure what caused it exactly, it’s probably a combination of things, but it got worse over time until it became nearly unbearable. I had a lot of difficulty going up and down stairs, which isn’t great since, being a New Yorker, I rely heavily on the subway system to get around. I have a yoga teacher who used to work at a physical therapy clinic in Park Slope. She recommended that I see a woman that worked there named Dr. Nya McKenzie. I trust my yoga teacher, I consider her a friend, so I knew I had to seek out Dr. Nya’s help. When I went to search for her I was told that she had left to work for a company called Physio Logic, so I decided to check it out. I’ve never gone to another clinic since. Physio Logic has everything that I can ever need. This place is brilliant. The whole system here went beyond my expectation. I’m lucky enough to be able to come here as frequently as I do for maintenance. You can consider me a regular at Physio Logic.
What have you learned since starting your journey here at Physio Logic?
Since coming to Physio Logic I have really internalized the importance of proper form. I was shown what my neutral spine was, proper posture for MY body, and I’ve picked up some of the technical aspects of physical therapy. I learned a lot about anatomy, and how certain exercises can help fix certain problems.
What was your favorite part of being our patient?
The medical massage. That was such a treat! The long term benefits of coming here are so wonderful. Being around experts who love what they do is so refreshing. Having such a high level of expertise at my disposal is a real blessing. The entire staff here cares about their patients. I can feel it from the moment I walk in. There is such a focus on getting people to where they need to be, I never felt that anywhere else.
Who stood out to you the most during your treatment at Physio Logic? How did they help you reach your goals?
Dr. Nya, Dr. Rudy, Dr. Ken, and Becca truly stood out to me.
What activities are you able to return to since transitioning from pain to wellness?
Well I’m pain free for the most part. Walking up steps used to be so difficult, but it no longer poses as a problem. Unfrozen shoulders, I had such stiff shoulders, and I’ve been able to regain my range of motion while coming here.
