What were your initial goals coming in to Physio Logic?
I had elbow and shoulder pain from performing a back squat during powerlifting. As a competitive powerlifter the injury proved to be an issue once I had to drop out of a competition. I wanted to get back into lifting competitively so I came to Physio Logic for physical therapy and chiropractic services. I saw Dr. Amanda Robotti and Dr. Klaus Dobra for physical therapy, Dr. Mike Distler, Dr. Ken Brassington for chiropractic, and Dr. Allison Heffron for both chiropractice and acupuncture.
What have you learned since starting your journey here at Physio Logic?
At first I was very frustrated during treatment because I wanted to get back to competing as soon as possible. I had gone to a doctor that told me I had to stop what I was doing until I recovered. I’m glad I learned that that was not the case getting treatment at Physio Logic. I learned to be patient with my body’s recovery. I always knew warm-ups and stretches were important, but I never knew what I had to do, so I usually skipped that step. It wasn’t until I was shown some great exercises and stretches at Physio Logic that I began incorporating them into my workout.
What was your favorite part about being a patient at Physio Logic?
Talking to Dr. Allison Heffron about lifting.
Who stood out to you the most during your treatment at Physio Logic? How did they help you reach your goals?
Everyone was pretty equal in terms of quality of care. I knew that this team had my best interest in mind, and I trusted their approach. After I improved to a certain point I was discharged from physical therapy and continued my care with Dr. Mike and Dr. Heffron. Although it was painful while I was getting treated by Dr. Mike with Graston technique, I felt my recovery became a lot quicker. I have never had acupuncture treatment done before, but I felt the benefits from Dr. Allison’s treatment. It was great that I got three different kinds of treatments under one roof to help me recover.
What are the top three benefits from coming to Physio Logic??
1. Everything is one place. 2. Although Physio Logic is out-of-network, it was totally worth it. Definitely beats trying to find 3 different providers in-network and all the travel time associated with it. 3. Physio Logic is very convenient to get to for me. It’s close to work and the availability on their schedule worked well for me.
