What were your initial goals coming in to Physio Logic?

I wanted to relieve the pain and tightness in my hips and IT band on the right side of my body. The tight IT band was putting a lot of stress on my knee. I fell in the snow twice this year before coming into Physio Logic. It was then that I felt pain from pulling a muscle when I fell. My internist saw me and recommended physical therapy for me. I had worked with Dr. Sarah Whiteside in the past when she was working at a different practice. When I found out that she was working at Physio Logic in Downtown Brooklyn, I signed up to get treated right away. I travel from Harlem all the way to Brooklyn because I know the care I get from Dr. Whiteside is unmatched.

What was the one thing you liked most about Physio Logic?

When I first stepped foot into Physio Logic I was very impressed. I loved the amount of space that was available, the design is amazing. During my first evaluation with Dr. Sarah, she asked if I was feeling pain anywhere else in body. My neck and upper back muscles were feeling tight and causing issues, so she recommended that I see the chiropractic team. The combined approach is very effective. Working with both Dr. Sarah and Dr. Ken Brassington has helped me a lot. For my first two visits I also got massage therapy done on my right leg to help release the tension from my IT band.

Dr. Sarah helped me build up strength and stabilize my hips and muscles around my knee. We did many exercises to accomplish this, like clamshells, the hydrant, side leg lifts, walking side step with the Theraband around my ankles. I had never done Pilates before until getting physical therapy treatment at Physio Logic. It’s worth the trip to Brooklyn. We also did a lot of work with balance. Miguel, the rehab tech helped me with electric stimulation.

What are the top three benefits from coming to Physio Logic??

1. Having Dr. Ken and Dr. Sarah physically manipulate my problem areas. It hurt a lot when I was getting it done, but I definitely felt my muscles loosen up and releasing tension after those treatments. 2. I now know the importance of strength training. My glutes needed to pull their weight when I run, so activating them was a huge help and put far less strain on my IT band, hips, and knee. Dr. Sarah explained that some of my muscles were being overworked while others underused. Balancing that out made a noticeable difference. 3. I learned proper form for each exercise to get the most benefit from them and to avoid injuring myself.

Would you recommend the services at Physio Logic to anyone? Why?

Yes, I referred a friend to a digestive health workshop that took place at Physio Logic. I gave her a flyer and she was very interested in learning more. We both attended the workshop and really enjoyed it. I really liked that Physio Logic has so many services and their approach is very structured.
