What were your initial goals coming in to Physio Logic?

I was training for the marathon and was experiencing knee and foot pain during my runs. I came into Physio Logic to figure out what was going on, to continue training and run longer distances. My initial evaluation was with Dr. Mike Distler. He did a full assessment and was able to explain where my source of pain was coming from. He made me stand and move in different positions to see what would trigger any pain. We found out that it was my IT band and running form. I was prescribed chiropractic treatment twice a week to get me through my training and to run the marathon. Dr. Distler worked on loosening up tight muscles around my knee to create less friction. There was a lot of myofascial release treatment. He was like my coach in the sense that he held me accountable. I was able to complete the marathon and give a lot of credit to Dr. Distler for helping me reach my goal.

At this point, I’m coming in for a separate issue related to the pain in my shoulder. I tried doing yoga and Pilates to help strengthen my body and reduce the pain, but it wasn’t working. Dr. Distler was able to pinpoint the source and we are working towards reversing the damage that has been done over the years. We are working on making the pain more manageable instead of chronic. So far treatment has been effective. I’ve learned some exercises to help strengthen some weak muscles contributing to my back and shoulder pain with Diane, the rehab tech. I’ve become more aware of my posture at work, especially when I get stressed out, I have a tendency to scrunch my shoulders up and stay in that position for hours without realizing it.

What would have prevented you from treatment at Physio Logic, and what made you choose us for treatment?

Time. I work long hours, so I’m glad that Physio Logic was accommodating and understanding of my schedule and the occasional need to reschedule at a moment’s notice. Their flexibility was invaluable.

What was the one thing you liked most about Physio Logic?

I work in finance, so my work hours are very long. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Distler was realistic with his approach and expectations of my progress. He prioritized which exercises I should be working on instead of just giving me a whole list and sending me on my way. I also really liked the fact that I was held accountable. Knowing me and my schedule, it’s very easy to just procrastinate or disregard the exercises that I needed to do. Dr. Distler kept track of my progress and motivated me to continue making progress. The combination of chiropractic care, electric stimulation, mindful posture, and exercise have helped reduced the frequency of headaches and spasms that I used to feel due to my back and shoulder.

What are the top three benefits from coming to Physio Logic??

1. Reduction in chronic pain and headaches. 2. Finished the marathon. 3. Renewed focus on my body as a system. When I first started coming to Physio Logic I didn’t realize that the pain I was feeling in multiple spots on my body were all connect. The exercises have helped a lot.

Would recommend the services at Physio Logic to anyone? If so why?

Yes. I’m actually trying to get my boyfriend to come here for treatment as well.
